The Roaring Twenties
Cedar Lake held its 2007 First Light Gala “The Roaring Twenties” on Nov. 3, 2007 at the Henry Clay in downtown Louisville. About 420 guests were in attendance. The event included silent and live auctions, an elegant dual-course entrée meal catered by The Silver Spoon, live music by the Pete Willinger Orchestra, and period dancing to celebrate the spirit of the 1920s. Many guest attended in costume, from flappers to gangsters. The lead sponsor for the event was BB&T. Cedar Lake’s new $8.5 million capital campaign, “Advancing the Vision,” was publicly launched at the event with the presentation of a video. Kentucky’s First Lady Glenna Fletcher attended First Light and presented Cedar Lake with a proclamation in support of the campaign. The event netted about $120,000.
