Creating Dreams and Opportunities
for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities

- Cedar Lake serves more than 200 individuals with mild to profound intellectual disabilities, including those who are medically fragile and behaviorally challenged.
- In addition to the Cedar Lake Lodge campus, our 28 community properties in Jefferson, Oldham and Henry counties provide our residents with a wide array of residential options to meet their individual needs.
- In 2006, Cedar Lake Foundation provided more than $500,000 in direct support of indigent residents and for non-reimbursable services to residents and clients.
- In 2006, donations through the Cedar Lake pick-up service totaled nearly $130,000.
- In 2006, Cedar Lake Lodge added 11 ICF/MR beds, bringing present capacity to 87. The waiting list to enter the Lodge now numbers about 70, and the wait is approximately 8 to 10 years long.
Philosophy
Cedar Lake adheres to a number of inherent values, principles, and beliefs:
- We believe our community services and residential options must provide a safe, stable and secure environment based on Christian values.
- We believe in the intrinsic worth of all persons and commit to advocate for the full rights of persons with intellectual disabilities.
- We believe that individuals with intellectual disabilities should have as much control over their lives as possible, and be provided opportunities to express personal choices and values.
- We believe in providing high-quality services and supports that strive to maximize the unique abilities, health, welfare and self-esteem of each person.
- We believe our private not-for-profit, church-affiliated organization can operate efficiently and effectively through public partnerships.
- We believe a joint commitment with families/guardians is essential in order to act responsibly in addressing the current and future needs of those we serve.
