"Masquerade"
Cedar Lake held its 20th anniversary signature fundraising event on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Galt House Grand Ballroom. First Light "Masquerade" featured a dual-entree dinner, silent and live auctions, as well as performing artists from Walden Theatre, Kentucky Shakespeare Festival and the Highland Chamber Players. Presenting sponsor for the event was BB&T.
The "Masquerade" theme allowed our nearly 400 guests to get into the Renaissance spirit, with elegant gowns for the women and tuxedos for the men, along with Venetian masks for all. A fire eater greeted guests as they arrived on Main Street. Costumed actors from Walden Theatre lined the entrance to the ballroom. An interactive performance of "Romeo & Juliet" with Kentucky Shakespeare Festival actor Tiffany LaVoie capped off the evening, along with a toast to First Light’s 20th anniversary and a balloon drop.
The event raised more than $150,000 for Cedar Lake, the largest amount raised in First Light’s history!
